My story and how it led me to what i do now
I am committed to guiding and supporting women in discovering their authentic path, empowering them to feel their best mentally and physically. I firmly believe that each of us possesses the ability to live a vibrant, fulfilling life filled with confidence and contentment.
Recognising the gaps in available support during my own struggles was the catalyst behind my mission to empower women with a holistic approach to mental health and wellbeing. I am committed to providing the support that I wish had been available to me during my own challenges.
My passion for wellbeing, mental health and nutrition led me to study to become a holistic life, health and nutrition coach, counsellor and yoga teacher. I embody the principles I advocate and combining holistic coaching with counselling is deeply meaningful to me. I've experienced first-hand the transformative power a holistic approach to wellbeing has in achieving a fulfilling, balanced life that supports self-actualisation.
I passionately integrate these therapeutic modalities together because from both personal experience and research-backed evidence, it consistently demonstrates their effectiveness in promoting mental health and overall wellbeing. This empowers individuals to cultivate sustainable inner peace, joy, and contentment.
In my own mental health journey with depression and anxiety, I experienced the loneliness and isolation it can bring. I had no self-worth, self-belief and was ruled by my critical negative self talk. Struggling alone and seeking change, I turned to a holistic approach in pursuit of healing and a happier, healthier life. Finding solace in exercise, I realised its profound impact on overall wellbeing. This healing journey ignited a passion within me for a holistic approach to health and wellbeing and its transformative power to create strong mental health, confidence and a healthy life in body, mind, and soul.
After leaving school and throughout my twenties I lacked direction amid societal pressure to have everything "figured out" and conform to the cycle of university, career and settling down. I felt compelled to explore beyond these expectations and I pursued various jobs and travelled and worked in many different countries. This journey revealed the possibilities in life and I realised that conforming to external expectations didn't align with my own values and desires and I wanted to find my own authentic path. Trusting my intuition, I embraced self-discovery and growth.
My experience as a model in the fashion industry left me struggling with body dysmorphia and a cycle of emotional eating and restriction, despite my knowledge of nutrition. This struggle persisted on and off for many years. By challenging my internal dialogue, exploring my subconscious, and learning to understand and regulate my emotions, I found peace with food and achieved true freedom in my relationship with it. I'm passionate about nutrition's impact on both our physical and mental wellbeing. Having experienced myself the complexities of our relationship with food, I am driven to support others in finding freedom, peace, and healing in their own relationship with food.
Looking back, I'd reassure my younger self that life isn't about having all the answers, but about embracing the journey of discovery, growth, and change. While I wish I knew this earlier, I'm grateful for my life experiences, as they've provided significant growth and strength. Life's journey is to be enjoyed, as it is life itself. Everyone's journey is unique, and it's okay to feel unsure at times. What matters most is finding your own authentic path.
